I had a hard time coming up with the title for today’s choice of image. I try not to be presumptuous or pre-judgmental about what I saw at a nearby park this morning. It appeared to me that the caregiver was video chatting cheerfully with someone on her phone while the old woman whom she was supposed to take care of was left alone sitting in a wheelchair under the sun.
It’s very possible the caregiver was having a break while the old woman was getting her beneficial sun exposure. However, I couldn’t help but wondering what if the sun was too hot and the old woman couldn’t voice her discomfort? How long would it take till the caregiver pay attention and notice it?
The reality is that for many people it is a job that makes a living. But would it make a difference if they were caring for their own family?
