  • Here in Albuquerque Again

That’s right. We are traveling again. Living in Santa Fe, wherever we are flying to, Albuquerque is always the first step.

Frankly I’m really tired of this, specially, as you probably know, we travel quite a bit. I enjoy driving. But to drive for more than an hour to get to the airport where the journey starts, and there’s at least one transfer and sometimes two before we arrive at the destination, the ride is often stressful. Some fellow drivers’ behavior only makes the experience worse..

Now we have checked in to our hotel. Since we have an early flight tomorrow morning, we plan to have an early dinner at the Applebee’s near by and call it a day. I already know what my companion will have: Applebee’s Bourbon Street Steak.

  • A Slightly Early Start

I woke up earlier than my companion this morning. Opened the family room window, I saw the gentle morning light colored the clouds so serenely..

Good morning with love, from Eldorado.

  • The World As We See It

It doesn’t ease my mind knowing that I am not alone to feel like this. There’s too much distraction and it’s too easy to lose focus. How do we find our way back collectively? What I fear is whatever damage that’s been made could never be repaired completely, and the process would seem to be another never ending torment..

  • A Question Without An Answer

These days, living in a world like this, it’s getting increasingly difficult to do the right thing..

    I’m a bit tired today..

    (To be continued..)

  • Silently Our Burro Speaks

Three days ago I found our burro fell flat on the ground after the sudden rain. I straightened it up as soon as the rain stopped, but I kept wondering how that happened. The burro is quite heavy after all.

Our previous neighbors gifted this burro to us when they decided to move. It’s been with us for more than a year now. We truly enjoy its company. All the memories and history seem to be in this burro’s eyes, and sometimes they bring sadness into my mind..

  • First Sunset of September

On this first day of September, I went out for a run in the morning. I didn’t go to Cerro Alto Trailhead as I planned to. My companion thought that the trail condition could be messy due to yesterday’s surprise downpour. I understood he meant well and didn’t insist.

To mark a new beginning of this month, I deleted my main Pixelfed account permanently. It was only a matter of time. Plus I no longer see the point of having it anymore. So, adiós Pixelfed.

  • Late Afternoon Sudden Downpour

It was completely not in the forecast. Out of the blue we received quite a bit of downpour this afternoon. Normally we’d be extremely happy to get this much of rain, but we were just informed by our general contractor that he found several cracks on the parapet walls above our house. This amount of rain no doubt puts me on edge..

  • Can’t Turn Back Time

This afternoon we returned to Lamy for the first time since almost a year.. It seems lots of things have changed. Or maybe I simply can’t recall what it was like before. But the taproom is pretty much still how I remembered. Some art works on the walls are different now, but the atmosphere remains intact.

When we were sitting at the table drinking beer, I couldn’t help but wonder why it took us so long to come back here. I knew the reasons, but I refused to face them. Nobody can turn back time. There’s no use to ponder what can’t be changed..

  • Cerro Alto Trailhead

Today we finally went over to the newly completed Cerro Alto Trailhead. It’s only open to the public about five months ago. This trail is an extension to the Santa Fe Rail Trail system, which provides a wonderful scenic view of the historic town, Lamy.

I’m already considering running on this trail tomorrow..

  • As Dark as the Night Descends

I suppose tonight is one of those nights that I can’t seem to be able to even try to look at the bright side..
