Remember the farm windmill I mentioned a while ago? I was thrilled that the community finally replaced it and went there often just to admire it. About two months ago we noticed that the windmill was gone. At the time we thought it needed repair and would be back up spinning again soon. Everybody here knows how unpredictable and wicked strong the wind can be in Eldorado. I start to think that it’d never be back..
In order not to let the parcel exposed to the heat outside of our door, my companion wanted to wait till he had it before going out to do some planned shopping. He got a message that said it’d be delivered between 1:30 to 3:30pm. Then another message saying between 5:30 to 7:30pm. When it finally was delivered at 7:42pm, it was delivered to a wrong address..
So we wasted the whole day waiting for the parcel and never left the house.
The image was captured shortly before sunset, when I felt I could no longer stay inside although outside temperature was still around 85°F..
It wasn’t there 10 minutes ago when I opened the door to our porch to let the cool air in. Then the warm glowing light of sunset caught my attention. I went out, stunned by the transformation. This is one of the many reasons why I love this Land of Enchantment.
Another day is nearly over. Another journey awaits. Good night, Santa Fe.
Today has been quite an interesting day. Lots of things happened and I’ve made progress on various tasks. Sometimes I wonder if all I’m doing has any purpose or value. I know I tend to overthink. So for now I’ll just enjoy yet another spectacular sunset..
This afternoon I finally set up the umbrella for the porch. It has been sitting in the garage for years. The wind in Eldorado can be really strong, and I’m reluctant to use it because of that. Now it’s been installed, we still have to keep an eye on it the whole time.
I did spend an hour on the porch reading afterwards. I haven’t felt this content living here since a while..
Driving back home from Harry’s Roadhouse, the colors of the sky were dreamy. I had to stop the car and captured the moment..
Ten minutes before I captured this image, the sky was almost gray even though there was a thin orange glow on the horizon. I was prepared to lower the blinds and accept that it was the end of the scene. Apparently it was a trick performed by the greatest magician. How could this be possible? I was stunned by this dramatic transformation..
I discovered this message written in chalk on pedestrian paths all over our community today. Some look pretty fresh. But a few look like someone tried to erase the information.
On the way to the recently restored farm windmill, nobody can miss this tree. I have captured countless variations of the same image. Funny I probably will never get tired of seeing or capturing this tree. There’s something about it that fascinates me. It’s full of possibilities, full of potential, full of life..
