Dinner time in Portugal is rather late for us. Local people usually have dinner after 7pm. The street might look deserted because all the shops are closed. However most restaurants around there are packed with patrons. Popular places all require advance reservations and we learned the hard way tonight..
We just came back home a moment ago. I’m tired but content. It’s an evening filled with laughter, mutual support, and optimism.
They live in Phoenix. Other than occasional text messages, we rely on opportunities like this to catch up in real life. Looking at how they have matured individually and as a couple over the years also reminds us our own rapidly changing life trajectory.
Future is still full of question marks. I remind myself to cherish what we do have and live for the moment. Because “now” is all that matters..
Tonight I spent a little more time than necessary to prepare for my dinner: I made an omelette to wrap the rice for the three-days-old leftover curry. Only after I’ve captured this image and had my first bite, I realized that I forgot to sprinkle some Japanese spices over it.
Dinner was more than delicious and the company couldn’t be better. Now it’s time for dessert.
